- Scope and Content
- Two black-and-white negative photographs featuring Principal of Aldborough Public School, presenting a chequ to Christian Missions', on January 3, 1985.
- W9 B2 201 was published in the West Lorne Sun on January 3, 1985, with the caption: "Aldborough Public School Principal Dave Ballantine presented a $526.10 cheque to Stuart Patterson of Rodney Christian Mission prior to Christmas, which was the proceeds of Aldborough Public School students' fund-raising campaign for Ethiopia's starving. Principal Ballantine said he thought the students might contribute $100 in pennies, but when they raised over five times as much, he was not only surprised, but please as was everyone else involved. Mr. Patterson accepted the donation on behalf of Compassion Canada, London, which doubled the amount. That amount - $1,052.20 - was also doubled by the federal government and another welfare agency, resulting in $6,300 being contibuted to the worthy cause. Students are to be praised for their thoughtfulness and in sharing their meagre spending money with the less fortunate."
