- History / Biographical
- From typed notes by Harley Lashbrook: "Old boys were celebrated in Rodney beginning in 1897. Parades were held on Main Street, followed by a day of events and activities in the park at New Glasgow, and the Memorial park in New Glasgow.
- Scope and Content
- Former Site of Old Boys' Reunion, likely in Aldborough Township, ca. 1900. Photograph was taken by Carl Wray. Published in the West Lorne Sun on August 25, 1983, with the following caption: "Aldborough Old Boys' Picnic, about 1905, was held at the top of the hill leading down to the fisheries. At the extreme left is the old fish-houses and a concessionaire's tent. In the left-centre background is Haven's Barn and many carriages. Below, Rodney's band plays. At right is West Lorne Citizen's Band, a platform behine for speakers and hundreds milling around, men in three-piece wool suits and ladies in the shade of their umbrellas, proving it was a hot August day".
