- "Workhorse goalie - A product of Aylmer Minor Hockey, Randy Plaquet is in his third season with the Port Stanley Junior 'D' Lions. He has been between the pipes in all but four periods in the current season." (26a)

- "Port takes lead - Port Stanley captain Ray Haight (arms raised) celebrates the Lions' first goal of the game scored by Mark Golem (14). Port Stanley scored again 1 1/2 minutes later and held a 2-0 lead over Belmont until late in the second period. Belmont won the game 4-2 and leads the Junior D best-of-seven divisional final 1-0. The next game is tonight in Port Stanley." (26b)

The Bombers delighted a home crowd of about 750 fans by dumping the Irish 8-5 in the opening game of the Western Junior 'D' Hockey League finals Wednesday night." (26e)

Horton set a new league record by piling up 122 points (65 goals, 57 assists) this season, 20 points better than the old standard." (26k)
