- "Ladies 18-Hole golf champs - Ladies 18-hole Golf Club held its annual invitational tournament at the St. Thomas Golf and Country Club this week. The top winners from left, are Debby Hume of the Thames Valley Golf Club, the low net winner with a score of 68, Mary Medcalf, the Ladies' 18-hole captain, and Roma Waller, the low gross winner with an 83 score. Behind is Tom Pullen, the St. Thomas Club's golf pro. The 'A' Group low gross winner was Ruth Cameron with an 88 and the low net winner was Marg Robinson of London Highland with a 76. Other winners were: 'B' Group low gross, Rheta Stratton of Stratford, 93, Betty Hodge, St. Thomas Golf and Country, low net 76; 'C' Group low gross Ethelwyn Hintz of Tillsonburg, 96, low net Babe Fowler of Stratford, 77, and 'D' Group low gross Joan Lidster of Pleasant Valley, 109, Sylvia Fletcher of Tillsonburg, low net, 79."
