- "At Legion Convention - The District 'A' Fall Convention of the Royal Canadian Legion was held Saturday and Sunday at St. Thomas. The local Legion group, Branch 41, was host to the event. Some of the officials in attendance from left to right were: Rev. J.L. Petrie, Branch 41 padre; Gordon Wakefield of Woodstock, the first vice-president of the Ontario Command; Ron MacBeath, Moncton, N.B., the first vice-president of the Dominion Command, and the guest speaker; William Gregory, Branch 41 president, and Wellington Bugler, district 'A' commander."
