- Scope and Content
- One black and white photograph used in St. Thomas Times-Journal article published December 15, 1967, with caption:
- "One of the oldest - Surrounded by a tangle of shrub growth, this old house owned by Frank Swain, of RR 2, West Lorne, waits out its remaining years. The house is over 100 years old and is built upon a rock. Part of the building has become lopsided and will soon tumble to the ground. At one time the house was a hotel." (50a)
- "Memento of old times - This piece of glass held by Frank Swain is one of the few remaining souvenirs of the time the old Swain House was a hotel. The glass bears the inscription of John Livingston, bartender of the hotel over 100 years ago. The name was scratched on the glass when soldiers were searching for Fenian Raiders during the late 1860s." (50b)
