- In July 2020, Steve Peters commented on Facebook: "The earliest record of a baseball game being played in St.Thomas that I have found is 1869. The Diamond at Pinafore Park opened in 1898, making it one of the oldest in Canada. Thanks to Covid, no games will likely be played this year. The Wooden grand stand was burned in 1936".
