- Scope and Content
- Seven colour photographs documenting the arrival of Canadian National Railways Locomotive No. 5700 in St. Thomas, Ontario, on October 22, 1988. The engine is a Hudson type steam engine (4-6-4, class K-5a), built by Montreal Locomotive Works in 1930 and was retired from the Canadian National Railways' roster in 1960. It was acquired by the Elgin County Railway Museum in 1988, when it was brought to St. Thomas for restoration and future preservation and exhibition. The first photograph (R4 S5 Sh3 B4 F2 9a) features Ken Verrell posing in the engine's cab; the remainder of the photographs feature members of the public observing the engine's arrival.
