- Two black and white photographs used in St. Thomas Times-Journal article published May 29, 1970 with captions:
- "Protests Barricade - Mrs. Joseph Haskett, who with her husband operates The Clan's variety store at the corner of Fingal Road and Highway 4, has erected a sign protesting the city's construction of a low retaining fence in front of their business. They claim the fence has severely curtailed their business." (1a)
- "Empty Restaurant - The extensive renovations carried out at The Clan's restaurant have proved pointless so far, says Mrs. Joseph Haskett, proprietor (above). The Haskett's have been unable to obtain a restaurant licence for the premises. City officials claim the site does not meet existing parking, zoning or health regulations." (1b)
- Six newspaper articles ca. June 2, 1970 - January 19, 1971 explaining the conflict between Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Haskett, owners of the Clan's variety store, and the city. (2)
