- Digitized copy of an original survey plan of part of the Townships of Maidstone, Rochester and Sandwich, County of Essex. Registered November 29, 1824, Deputy Surveyor's Office, Port Talbot, Mahlon Burwell, Deputy Surveyor. Scale 1 inch equals 40 chains. Shows Talbot Road lots 1-22 in Maidstone Township, lots 1-17 in Rochester Township, and lots 281-307 (primarily in Maidstone and Sandwich Townships), with annotations dated 1817-1840 showing the names of grantees resident on these lots. Geographic and cultural features shown in this plan include the Detroit River, Talbot Road, Middle Road, Huron Church, "Rr aux Puce" (Puce River), "Rr aux Peche" (Pike Creek?), Belle River, Ruscom River, "Boundary between Sandwich and Maidstone", and "Boundary between Rochester and Maidstone." Mile stones 92 to 108 on the Talbot Road are shown. An index to lot numbers occupied/assigned as indicated in this plan have been created and made available in pdf format.
