- Scope and Content
- Digitized copy of an original survey plan of the Township of Romney, County of Kent, registered June 8, 1811, Surveyor General's Office, [York], Thomas Ridout, Surveyor General. Scale 1 inch equals 40 chains. Annotations dated 1816-1829 show the names of grantees resident on various Township lots. Named geographic and cultural features shown in this plan include Lake Erie, Two Creeks, Yellow Creek, Talbot Road, and "Line Between Tilbury East and Romney - Surveyed in 1816." Talbot Road lot 199 on this plan provides a good example of Talbot's practice of overwriting grantee names: "George Fox 1818" has been written over an illegible name dated 1816.
