- Digitized copy of an original survey plan of part of the Township of Southwold, County of Elgin, with legend "Map of the front of the Township of Southwold betrween Talbot Road and Lake Erie; surveyed by order of his excellency Sir Peregrine Maitland...Port Talbot, 28th June, 1819". Maitland (1777-1854) served as Lieutenant-Governor of Upper Canada, 1818-1828. Shows the division of the township into concessions and lots with annotations indicating the names of grantees resident on some of these lots. Scale 1 inch equals 40 chains. Named geographic and cultural features shown in this plan include Lake Erie, River Road, Lake Road, Kettle Creek, and the site of one "mill seat". The plan also shows the future site (as yet unnamed, and not separated or laid out) of the Village of Port Stanley.
