This letter is in response to an ad post by Robert Mackenzie of Edgeware Road St Thomas in the Sunday Post (Scotland) for farm labourers/managers on February 13 1949. The original ad is as follows:
Here’s A Chance!
I am an emigrant who has been in Canada only a few weeks. A new store for feeding stuffs opened here the other day. They gave a free dance and 80 prizes. While I was at the dance I was approached by a farmer. He asked if I knew a young couple experienced in farming. He has two farms and would like to find a fully experienced young couple to run an 83-acre one. The farmer’s name is Robert Mackenzie, Edgeware Road, St Thomas, Ont., Canada
-John McGregor, Dutton, Ontario.
