- Black and white photograph used in St. Thomas Times-Journal article published April 7, [197-?] with caption: "New Coat of Arms - The City's new coat of arms arrived last week, and plans are being made for a case in which to display it for public viewing. The coat of arms, granted by the College of Arms, is predominantly green with metallic colours highlighting it. The Talbot hound at the top is the symbol of the Talbot family who founded St. Thomas. The inscription at the bottom, Strength through Progress, is to become the city's new motto."
