- Scope and Content
- Black and white photograph used in St. Thomas Times-Journal article published April 5, 1955 with caption: "Talbot's Castle Malahide - The castle Col. Thomas Talbot built over 150 years ago on the shores of Lake Erie stands on an excellent state of preservation and with much of the original furniture. It is located at Port Talbot a few miles southwest of St. Thomas. A large frame building of 16 rooms, it was made with the most solid materials of that day, including black walnut doors, frames and cupboards. Owned for some years by Detroit interests, it was recently purhased by Frederic I. Ker, former publisher of the Hamilton Spectator. Mr. Ker's son John (seen in the above photo at Col. Talbot's desk) is managing the property."
