History / Biographical: Under the direction of chairmen Nancy Gardner, the Publicity Committee of the Local Committee for the 1985 International Plowing Match and Farm Machinery Show was responsible for all activities concerned with publicizing the 1985 International Plowing Match and Farm Machinery Show held September 17-21, 1985 in the vicinity of St. Thomas, Ontario, including the preparation and distribution of brochures, programs, press releases, newsletters and event schedules. The Publicity Committee was also responsible for the activities of the Conventions and Delegations Sub-Committee (Joe and Shirley Bechard, Chairmen).

Scope and Content: Series consists of records created, collected and maintained by the Publicity Committee of the Local Committee for the 1985 International Plowing Match and Farm Machinery Show. Series includes minutes; correspondence; advertising schedule; brochures; programs; press releases; newsletters; newspaper clippings; photographs of the Executive and Committee/Sub-Committee chairmen; media kits and other materials relating to the Media Day held May 27, 1985 and Countdown Day held August 27, 1985; materials relating to the official logo and mascot design contest; souvenir objects including a coaster, sticker and assorted placemats; and records of the Conventions and Delegations Sub-Committee.
