- "Armed Police - Ontario Provincial Police armed with shotguns leave the police command post established in a service station near Thamesford to take up position around a farmhouse where Donald Wayne Cline, of St. Thomas held four children hostage yesterday." (14b)
- "Catching up on His Sleep - Bobby Field, 12, sleeps at his grandmother's Mapleton area home, after being released by Wayne Cline who held him hostage until early this morning in an attempt to escape from police. Mrs. Field told reporters that Cline and his girlfriend kept Bobby awake and sitting up in the car as it travelled through Southwestern Ontario." (14c)
