History / Biographical: Under the direction of joint chairmen Larry Shaw and Ken Somerville, the Site Committee of the Local Committee for the 1985 International Plowing Match and Farm Machinery Show was responsible for selecting sites and securing legal agreements with participating landowners, and for organizing and administering the operation of the Tented City area at the International Plowing Match and Farm Machinery Show held September 17-21, 1985 in the vicinity of St. Thomas, Ontario. The Site Committee was also responsible for the activities of the following sub-committees: Flying Farmers (Allen Woytaz, Chairman), Health (John Taylor, Chairman), Lands (Ralph Millman, Chairman), Parking (Doug Lyons, Chairman), Sanitation (R.A. McCaig, Chairman), Security and Public Safety (Bill Turvey and Jerry Rietveld, Co-Chairmen), Tented City (Ernest Marr and Michael Fife, Co-Chairmen), Traffic (R.G. Moore, Chairman), Trailer Park (Ken Smith, Chairman), Wagon Tours and Tractor Park (Dave Bechard and Mike Garrod, Co-Chairmen), and Waterlines (John Wilson, Chairman).

Scope and Content: Series consists of records created, collected and maintained by the Site Committee of the Local Committee for the 1985 International Plowing Match and Farm Machinery Show. Series includes minutes; correspondence; reports; legal agreements with participating landowners, contractors and service providers; maps and site plans; and records of the Committee's sub-committees.
