- Black and white photograph used in St. Thomas Times-Journal article published July 2, 1963 with caption:" Thousands of people found temporary relief from the heat over the holiday weekend when they visited summer resorts along the north shore of Lake Erie. The beaches at Port Bruce and Port Burwell were taxed to capacity by the heavy influx. The above picture was taken from the west end of the beach at Port Bruce Sunday afternoon where scores of people swam, boated, camped, and picnicked over the long weekend. They didn't escape the heat, but it was cool in the water."
