- Eight black and white photographs used in St. Thomas Times-Journal article published December 11, 1980 with captions:
- "Presents Coin - Nine-year-old Chris Thacker, son of Mr. and Mrs. Colin Thacker, of St. Thomas, presents Governor-General Ed Schreyer with the first official Centennial Coin. Wednesday, 25,000 of the souvenir coins commemorating the 1981 Centennial Year arrived in the city." (2a)
- "A Rose to Remember - Mrs. Dorothy Ayearst, of St. Thomas, was pleasantly surprised when Mrs. Schreyer presented her with a rose upon leading a reception at city hall. The roses were presented to Mrs. Schreyer earlier by nine-year-old Diane Baker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Baker." (2b)
- "Regimental Band - The Elgin Regiment marching band was on hand at city hall Wednesday to participate in the welcoming ceremonies for Governor-General and Mrs. Edward Schreyer.
