- Photographs showing the Abner Chase home built in 1871 on lot 22, Concession 4, Yarmouth Township, ca. 1940. 36 shows the design and detail of the cobblestones used for the house. It was believed to be the only one like it in Canada. The mason work was done by an uncle, Amasa Chase who came from Rochester, New York. He was 78 years old when he designed and built the mason work which was popular in New York. (43b) shows more of the stone detail.
The farm sold out of the Chase family to W. H. Mills in 1916 and in 1948 remained in the Mills family.
