- " Some of the survivors of the 91st Elgin Battalion attended a memorial service Sunday at the Pearl Street Cenotaph. Pictured are, front from left: V.E. Lemon, West Lorne, Rev. John Petrie, Herbert Watson, Ernest W. Roberts and Maxwell Morriss, all of St. Thomas and Howard Vair of St. Petersburg, Fla. Rear: Robert S. Gray, Rodney; William Rutter, London; Arthur Pettit, St. Thomas; Roy Gorvett, Akron, N.Y.; Ernie Mitchell St. Thomas. Absent from the picture, but who attended the service at the Cenotaph were Ab McVicar of London, Art Freeman and John Williams, both of St. Thomas." (35a)
