Scope and Content
Black and white photograph used in St. Thomas Times-Journal article published June 14, 1975 with caption:" Since 1915 the walls of the Sutherland Press building (then the Noble Biscuit Factory) have had recruiting slogans written on them. One of these slogans, however, has proven very timely as shown in this photograph. A week from tomorrow is the final re-union of the 91st Battalion, and Brian Sim (left) battalion historian and Charles Baldwin, a member of the 91st Battalion Association and veteran of the First World War, are shown looking at a footprint on the wall of the factory, which Mr. Sim has restored. Such footprints were painted all along Talbot Street, at the time (1915-1916) leading to the recruiting headquarters across from City Hall. Tickets for the civic luncheon, part of the re-union, are available and local people are urged to get out and watch the festivities. Further stories and pictures of the battalion will appear in next Saturday's Times-Journal."
