- Black and white photograph used in St. Thomas Times-Journal article published August 10, 1979 with caption:"Checking Everything - Ministry of transportation and communications' mechanics check out a car during the safety inspection conducted on Elm Street, Aylmer. The program has been going on since Tuesday and by noon yesterday, police say, 154 cars had been inspected, 95 failed the inspection, 26 had their plates removed and 23 passed with flying colors. The oldest car through was a 1951 Kaiser (they don't make them any more) and Constable Jim Allen said it passed the inspection no problem. A car from Texas was furthest from home and it had its plates removed".
