- Black and white photograph used in St. Thomas Times-Journal article published August 15, 1972 with caption:"Five-Year Plates - Motor vehicle licence issuer Ralph Counsell compares one of the new 1973 motor vehicle licence plates, available December 1, with one of this year's plates. The 1973 plates, with blue lettering on a white background, same as the 1972 plates, have a three-letter, three digit combination instead of last year's single letter followed by five numbers. The '73 plates are marked "Ontario, Keep it beautiful," along the top and bottom edges. The letters and numbers are separated by a crown symbol".
