- Under the direction of joint chairmen Harold and Audrey Jenkins, the County Beautification Committee of the Local Committee for the 1985 International Plowing Match and Farm Machinery Show was responsible for organizing the Elgin Beautification and Farmland Conservation competition at the International Plowing Match and Farm Machinery Show held September 17-21, 1985 in the vicinity of St. Thomas, Ontario.
