- Scope and Content
- Black and white photograph used in St. Thomas Times-Journal article published September 30, 1969 with caption:"Runways Demolished - The remnants of the World War II RCAF No. 4 Bombing and Gunnery School near Fingal are being obliterated. Only memories of the once busy base will remain for the many men who served there. The runways used by the Fairy Battles, Bolingbrokes, Lysanders and Avro Ansons are being torn up. The old base was acquired several years ago by the province. Much of the land about and between the runways has been farmed. The Ontario Department of Lands and Forests will be making the property a management hunting area during the cold weather months. Only two hangars remain on the premises. Tenders were called recently for their removal".
