- "Funny creatures all shapes and sizes crawled along the parade route. The procession was seen by nearly 12,000 spectators".
- "The Winner - Santa Claus is pictured above as he pulls out the winning ticket for the "52" Shop in St. Thomas tour to California from the Christmas Chimney containing thousands of coupons. The winner was Mrs. Woodburn C. Lumley, of 167 1/2 Wellington Street, who will be accompanied by her husband, a C & O brakeman, on the five-day trip. After the winner had been announced, Santa Claus handed out candy treats to the youngsters who came along to see the jolly old gentleman".
