William died on September 15, 1900, and Sarah died on February 7, 1920. They are both buried in the Best Cemetery near Corinth.
- The farm, consisting of part of lots 9 and 10, Concession 10 and part of lot 11, Concession 12, was purchased from the Crown in 1848 by Frederick Best. Upon Frederick's death in 1854, the farm went to William. When William died in 1900, the farm went to his son Cornelius. When Cornelius died in 1924, his wife Elizabeth continued to own the farm until her death in 1940. At that time, the farm was sold to her daughter Lena and her husband Roy Green.
