- Peter's parents were Baptist Powless (born 1857) and Sarah Ninham (born 1857). Their children were Rebecca, Peter and Alexandrea.
- Sarah's parents were Michael Doxtator (born January 10, 1871) and Lucy Peters (born June 15, 1869). Their children were Sarah, Ervie and Moses.

- Studio portrait of Pte. Peter Powless, 190064, member of the 91st Battalion Brass Band, with his wife Sarah and their children. From Muncey, Ontario. Sarah Doxtator was born on March 10, 1894. They were married in 1915. Sarah died shortly after this photograph was taken. Peter re-married.
- Information from Attestation papers: born December 14, 1891 on the "Oneida Reserve"; address at time of enlistment: Munsey P.O.; occupation - farmer; enlisted March 13, 1916; previous military experience: 1 year with 37th Regiment Haldimand Rifles.
- Listed in St. Thomas Daily Times, June 26, 1916 among the men who departed St. Thomas with the 91st Battalion on June 25, 1916.
- Listed in Nominal Roll 91st Overseas Battalion: Brass Band.
