- Scope and Content
- Studio portrait of an unidentified First World War soldier with the surname Powless and his wife and child. The woman shown here also appears in a Scott Studio portrait of "Georgie Powless" and family (146_6203). Based on a review of digitized attestation papers and service files at Library and Archives Canada, it is most likely that the soldier shown is Fredrick Powless, 802776; born on the Oneida Settlement, Delaware Township, May 24, 1886; enlisted at Muncey, Ontario, January 19, 1916, and assigned to the 135th Battalion, C.E.F.; next of kin reported as his wife, Julia Powless, residing in Southwold Township, Ontario.
