Description
Blue cloth hat with navy blue vinyl front brim. Black cloth mesh hat band. Gold metal button (2 in total) with 'Amtrak' embossed on it. Gold cord braid lanyard looped around buttons decorates front of hat. Gold hat badge with 'Amtrak' and 'Conductor' etched in metal and painted black. Amtrak logo in blue and red is in center of badge. 2 small air holes (4 in total) on each side of hat. Brown leather sweat band on interior. No identifying label of manufacturer.

Description
'Amtrak' Trainmen service cap in a black octagonal box with gold detailing and a gold 'Biltmore' logo. The cap is blue with gold detailing and a black brim, with a metal badge with a red and blue 'Amtrak' logo, the 'Amtrak' name in black and 'Trainmen' designation in black. The bade is gold. There is a leather band on the inside with 'Fashioned by Sentrix' in gold detailing and a logo in gold. There is also a number on the underside of the hat, which reads '866188' with a logo in black ink. Note: The accession number is found on the bottom of the box.

Condition Information
The cap is in good condition, with minor wear and tear on the cap and some scuffing on the badge. The box is in fair condition, showing wear and tear. The gold colouring is still visible.

2005.04.011: Flat black hat with decoration around crown. Donated by Katie (Anderson) Valentine and Betsy (Anderson) Clark. Worn between 1900-1960. 2005.004.058: Black crowned hat with white brimm. Donated by the Anderson family. Worn in 1960's. 2015.016.001: Fedorra styled hat with open rows of weaving (copper/bronze with flecks of gold). The hat also has a narrow matching bow and was made by Madelle of Montreal. Florence Dale wore this hat in 1969. It was donated by Jim and Linda Hunter. 2017.002.044: Woven green hat with orange bow and light blue leaf pin. The hat was donated by Rick and Bob Jackson. 2017.002.058: Black Wide brimmed hat with bow-like design on it. The hat was donated by Rick and Bob Jackson. 2005.004.030: Blue and teal small rimmed hat. This hat was worn between 1900 and 1960 and was donated by Katie (Anderson) Valentine and Betsy (Anderson) Clark. 2005.004.006: Fuschia hat that was worn by Mary (Morley) Anderson at her son, Robert's wedding in the late 1960's. Made by Robert Lefort, Chapeau, Montreal, Medusa Imported Beaver Devine, and was worn by Florence Dale between 150 to 1980. 1995.001.240:Black fur hat with ribbon around crown. This hat was donated by the Women's Institute. 2015.008.003: Wedding Veil with flower and pearl headband. Sylvia Elaine Rankin married David Lynn Thomas on July 16th 1966. This was donated by Sylvia Thomas along with her wedding dress. 2017.002.038: Blue feather hat with blue lace on the inside. the hat has many different types of feathers on it. It was donated by Rick and Bob Jackson. 2015.021.002: Black fastner with netting in the centre. The fastner is covered in black felt flowers and rhinestones. The fastner was worn in the 1950's. 2005.004.007: Blue-Grey hat. This hat was worn by Mary (Morley) Anderson at her daughter, Betsy's wedding in 1970. It was also worn with a matching dress. The hat was donated by the Anderson family. 1995.001.239:Netting and feather veil. This veil was donated by the Women's Institute. 2010.004.001: Small yellow feathered hat.

2015.016.009: Man's Stetson "Smithbuilt" Hat. The hat is brown and in its orignal oval hat box. Bert Dale wore this hat in the 50's. This hat was donated by Jim and Lynda Hunter. 1995.018.002: Derby Hat. This hat was made in England and was worn by Daniel Teeple in the early 1900's. The hat was donated by Miss Ruby Haight. 2017.002.059: Light Brown wide brimmed hat with a green, red, and brown loop. This hat was donated by Rick and Bob Jackson. 2018.010.001C:Brown fur headpiece with bows and mesh. Black leather aviator cap. Black fur lining on ear flaps and the folded up flap at the front. Beige felt lining inside of crown. Two leather straps at back with black snap buttons and a leather flap on each side with snap buttons. Attached to the left ear flap is a leather strap with holes and on the right ear flap is a shorter leather strap with a buckle.
