In July 2020, Steve Peters commented the following: "The Athletic Park on St.George became a City Park in 1903. For the first year in its' long history no athletic activity is taking place. Played soccer there for years with the Kickers and Vikings and also watched some amazing football games mostly dominated by Voaden. STCI which can be seen upper right was gone by my time (closed 1967). Land was donated by the Cameron Family. Over the years the park had a Lacrosse field, Tennis Courts and Baseball diamonds. There was also a long stair case to the Ath from the north end of East Street".
