Roulston, pastor of Central United Church, conducted the Scouts’ and Cubs’ Own Service on Sunday afternoon at Pinafore Park during which Johnny Page, the West Lorne boy who lost both hands as the result of shock burns in a boyish escapade last March and who is still in the hospital here, became a Wolf Cub. Photographs of several officers at the R.C.A.F. Training Centre. Caption from St. Thomas Times-Journal, June 29, 1951, page one: “Men in Charge of R.C.A.F. Training Centre at Aylmer.” 1_2369: “The Royal Canadian Air Force Station, north of Aylmer, is again one of the busiest training centres in Canada, with three different schools operating there and with staff and personnel greatly increased during the last month. Above is shown a group of the officers in charge of the various departments and sections of this busy station. Right to left: Pilot Officer George Kozorik, who is taking over the duties of unit education officer, which includes a very excellent public relations service; Squadron Leader J.K. Fraser, C.D., who has been in charge of No. 1 Technical Training School, being transferred from Trenton; Squadron Leader M.G. Holdham, M.B.E., whose entire Composite School for the training of clerks, stenographers and clerical specialists, was moved from Central Command, Trenton, a few weeks ago; Squadron Leader J.W. McNee, who continues as officer in command of the station until the new C.O. arrives and who has done a good administrative job of co=ordinating the different training departments; and Flying Officer W.H. Farrell, D.F.C., who is relinquishing the job of education and public relations officer to take charge of the station’s examination centre. Unfortunately, Squadron Leader Dibble, C.O. of the Aeronautical Engineering School was absent when the above photograph was taken. Quite a number of the staff officers at the station are Western Canadians.”
